Great ideas for how kids can celebrate World Party Day

World Party Day Crafts

May 3rd is World Party Day. You can’t have a party without decorations, right? We are making world flags as our party decorations this year.

You can make these flags in a smaller version and turn them into a garland. Today we have flags from Canada, France, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, and Scotland. When you are done making these flags, feel free to have your little artist design and make his or her own flag, and maybe even name a pretend country!

I really love making flag projects, because it’s such a great opportunity to teach colors. Did you know the three most popular world flag colors are red, white, and blue?

‘Oh Canada…’ Your little artist will have fun learning about the maple leaf on the flag. The Canadian flag is the newest flag we’re making today. It was approved in 1965. Enough about the facts! Let’s start making our own.

  3. Use glue stick to glue on red rectangles.

Next we go ‘across the pond’ to France. This three-colored flag is a good way to teach your little one to count to three.
