What is a Shape-a-saurus? There is no doubt kids love dinosaurs. We also know kids need to learn all the various shapes. So we decided to put the two together and make our own Shape-a-saurus crafts.
Today we are working on learning five basic shapes: Diamond, Circle, Square, Rectangle, and Triangle.
Diamond Dinosaur Craft Project
Supplies:
- Dinosaur parts pattern
- Diamond pattern
- Safety scissors
- Glue sticks
- Brown construction paper
- Pencil
Directions:
- Print copy of dinosaur and diamond parts onto construction paper.
- Trace and cut out child’s footprints.
- Cut out dinosaur parts.
- Glue parts together.
Square Dinosaur Craft Project
Supplies:
- Copy of dinosaur parts
- Safety scissors
- Glue stick
- Orange construction paper
Directions:
- Print copy of dinosaur parts onto orange construction paper.
- Cut out parts.
- Glue together.
Circle Dinosaur Craft Project
Supplies:
- Copy of dinosaur horns
- Copy of circle pattern
- Safety scissors
- Grey construction paper
- Glue stick
Directions:
- Print copy of dinosaur horns.
- Print copy of circle onto grey construction paper.
- Cut out circle and horns.
- Glue pieces together to make a Circle-a-Saurus.
Rectangle Dinosaur Craft Project
Supplies:
- Copy of dinosaur parts.
- Safety scissors
- Pencil
- Glue stick
- Green construction paper
Directions:
- Print copy of dinosaur head onto construction paper.
- Cut out dinosaur head.
- Trace and cut out child’s hand and footprints.
- Glue pieces to a sheet (rectangle) of green construction paper.
Triangle Dinosaur Craft Project
Supplies:
- Copy of dinosaur parts and triangle
- Safety scissors
- Pencil
- Glue stick
- Red construction paper
Directions:
- Print copy of dinosaur parts and triangle onto red construction paper.
- Trace and cut out hand prints.
- Cut out dinosaur parts.
- Glue together to make dinosaur.
