Sea bird crafts
Today we are having fun learning about our feathers friends with these silly Sea bird crafts. We may not all be able to travel to see these birds in their natural habitat but we can make our own. Your little artists are sure to have fun while learning with these projects.
“A wonderful bird is the Pelican. His beak can hold more than his belly can. He can hold in his beak enough food for a week…..’ is a funny limerick written by Dixon Lanier Merritt. We are having fun using ocean themed stamps to fill the pelican beak with food. This a great craft for refining small motor skills while using rubber stamps. Click the image to find out more.

In our next craft, we engineer our very own swimming seagull craft. We are introducing Newton’s third law-‘ every action has an equal and opposite reaction’ to your little artists. I love to see the surprised look on the children’s faces when the seagulls rock back and forth. Click the image below to find out how we made this craft.

We are refining small motor skills again while making this cold weather loving bird, the puffin. Your little artist will have fun gluing layers of feathers to keep this bird nice and warm, just like a real puffin. Lots of layers keep this bird nice and warm. Click the image to print your own.

We finish today’s newsletter with a sea bird craft your little artist might recognize, the penguin. This project will help your artists learn how to use shapes to design art. Click the image to find out more.

Maybe your little one is lucky enough to see one of these sea birds at the zoo. Perhaps you live near one of these sea birds’ natural habitats. Or these crafts were the first time they learned about them. I know, however they learn you were sure to say, ‘you’re so creative!’
