Pizza Party Day

Did you know May 17th is National Pizza Party Day? Any day we get to eat pizza is a great day, as far as we are concerned. I am sure your little artist would agree with us. Whether you make your own or call for a pizza to be delivered, I’m sure this is going to be one of your favorite days of the year!

In our first project we are making a pizza puzzle craft project. Your little artists can put together and take apart this puzzle as many times as they want. The secret to matching this puzzle is using the toppings. Your little artists will refine their small motor skills while coloring and cutting out this puzzle project.

Pizza Puzzle

Supplies:

  1. Copy of pizza
  2. Card stock paper
  3. Markers or Crayons
  4. Safety scissors

Directions:

  1. Print copy of pizza onto card stock.
  2. Color the pizza.
  3. Cut out and cut into the slices.

If that project made you hungry, you’re in luck! Next we’re off to the kitchen to make our own English muffin pizzas. (Needless to say, adult supervision is required.) Gather up your supplies and favorite toppings. We can all agree there seems to be an endless amount of toppings these days, but have your little artist help pick out the favorites.

English Muffin Pizzas

Supplies:

  1. English muffins
  2. Pizza sauce
  3. Mozzarella cheese
  4. Optional: Other toppings
  5. Spoon
  6. Cookie sheet
  7. Oven Preheated to 375 degrees F or 190 C

Directions:

  1. Split English muffins.
  2. Place English muffins on cookie sheet, split side up.
  3. Spoon pizza sauce onto each English muffin and add toppings.
  4. Grownups cook for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  5. Let cool before eating.

I hope your little ones had fun being both artists and chefs with today’s projects. I know you are sure to tell them, “You’re so creative!”
