Llamas, Fairies, and Bacon?
What do llamas, fairies, and bacon have in common? Nothing, except that they were our craft projects last week. We crafted a sun catcher fairy, one fluffy llama, and a painted/cut out bacon. We used almost all of our small motor skills to create our three projects.
Llama
This is a quick project perfect for large groups. You simply glue puff or cotton balls onto the llama printout. You can use typical llama colors such as black, brown, tan, or white. Or, make it really fun and use rainbow colors!
Fairy Sun Catcher
Have your little artist color with crayons. Color all the white away. When done, take a cotton swab and dip it in either cooking oil or baby oil and go over all the crayon. Allow it to dry before hanging in window. You may choose to leave her as is, or cut her out. Remember to have your little one name his or her fairy.
Bacon
This project came by way of a request from a little girl saying, “I love bacon sooooo much. Can you make art about it?”
Well, here we go! Using different shades of red and pink, paint the piece of bacon. When the project has dried completely, use safety scissors to have your little artists practice cutting out their pieces of bacon.
We love hearing about what your little artist wants to make. Children have the best ideas! We hope you enjoy some of these ideas. Though random, they’re fun because they come from our little artists. After all, we tell them, “You’re so creative!”
