How to make heart-shaped crafts with kids

With February starting tomorrow I am sure you are getting ready to decorate with hearts. It would make sense for us to share a couple of our crafts made out of hearts.

In our first craft, we are teaching little artists how to cut out their own heart shape. We have a free printable pattern. Simply print the pattern, fold it in half, and cutout. For this free pattern and project please click below.

How to cut out a heart shape:

Now that we have learned how to cut out a heart let’s take this shape around the world.

Our first stop in our hearts around the world tour we find ourselves in Asia. This project uses hearts and footprints to make an adorable panda bear. If you are using this project in a classroom setting, kids love making and comparing the size of each other’s footprints. Each panda bear comes out so different based on the size of each child’s footprint. For this free pattern and project please click below.

Next, we are heading to Southern Hemisphere to make a penguin using our heart shape. Kids are fascinated to learn they have penguins in Africa and Australia.

Today we are using two hearts to make this specific penguin craft. It is a great way to sneak in, I mean, incorporate a little counting too. For this free pattern and project please click below.

This next heart project can be found in barnyards around the world. We are making a heart shape pig. For this free pattern and project please click below.

Last but not least our heart spiral. A classroom looks beautiful with a ceiling filled with these decorations. We use pre-cut heart shape confetti to make this project easier. But if you have a little artist who can’t stop making hearts it is a great way to use them up. For this project please click below.
