Bat Crafts
We have gone batty around here this month with our bat crafts. October is National Bat month and we thought what better way to celebrate than to make our own bats. Today we are going to make a few different kinds. One big, one 3D, and one painted. Let’s begin.
In our first bat craft, we are going to use items you might find around the house. We are using some paper plates, bathroom tissue tubes, and paint. For directions and more information click here.
Paper Plate Bat Craft Project
We are practicing our scissor skills while making our next bat. It is OK if the bat comes out a little different for this one. The beauty is in the eye of the artist. These look really cute hanging all over the ceiling of a classroom as well. To make this project visit here.
Upside down Bat Craft Project
Next, we are using paper plates again to make this giant bat craft. When complete this make is over two feet wide. Children are amazed to learn in some parts of the world they have giant bats even bigger than this one. Click here for the printable and directions.

In our final bat project for today, we are sharing one of our favorites, the reverse bat. Little artists love this magic trick art project. If you are in a classroom setting cut a few bat patterns out of the poster board and reuse them several times. To find the pattern and directions click HERE.

Even though we show our bats in all black you can make them orange or brown. Or better yet mix some colors together. I know no matter how you make your bats you will tell your little artists, ‘You’re so creative!’
