Lizard Crafts
Today is World lizard day and we thought it was the perfect time to share, lizard crafts. Some Little some large but from all over the world. Let’s gather up those art supplies and let’s get started.
There are over a thousand different types of Geckos in the world. So I guess that means there is no wrong way to decorate this craft. We chose to use our fingers with stamp pads to make our geckos colorful. Click the image below to make your own.

This is a fun craft to learn a little bit about tie dye. when I make this with the littlest art I break it down into a few days. On the first day, we start with the frill tie dye part of the design and let it dry. You can choose to print the lizard onto color paper and cut it out. You may also choose on day two to let your little artist color or paint the body. Then glue the two pieces together on day three. We are having fun making this next long tailed lizard craft. Using bingo daubers and precut spirals to assemble. When complete this lizard is almost a foot tall. Click the image below for the free patterns.
Iguana Craft Project
Next up we are sharing this highly decorated Gila Monster lizard from Noth America. To add even more color to this project try printing on one of the three colors of paper this lizard comes in. This lizard craft can be done in pink, yellow, or orange. Or why not make all three? Then have your little artists refine their small motor skills while decorating. In today’s last craft we are making our own Chameleon puppets. This might work better for children four and up. Or maybe just make one as a teacher and have the puppet read a book about chameleons? Click the image to print and make your own.

We hope you had fun with all of our lizard crafts today. I know if you make one or all you are sure to tell your little artists, ‘You’re so creative!’
