Weather Themed Crafts for Kids
Lately, we have been getting an exorbitant amount of requests for weather themed crafts. Maybe it is all the spring showers we have been receiving that has us all talking about the weather. We love making crafts that help our little artists explore subjects like weather. In today’s newsletter, we are going to share a few different projects you can use to help teach about the different types of weather.
Our first project is staying true to our April showers theme by making three dimensional raindrops. These are fun to make individually or make an entire rainstorm and suspend from a cloud. If you are lucky enough to have a classroom, these raindrops look beautiful hanging from the ceiling too.

Rain sometimes is accompanied by our next project, Thunder and lightning.
Thunder and Lightning Craft
Sometimes thunder and lightning might be found with a tornado. In the United States, they are having an early tornado season. We are wishing everyone well with a safe and easy clean up. But our tornado craft hopefully will less damaging. You may use this templet and have the artist glue on pulled apart cotton balls to design his or her tornado.

Everyone loves this next weather themed craft, the sun. I can almost feel the warmth from the sun right now.
Sun Craft
When the sun meets the rain you might see a Rainbow or two. We are using an old gift card to learn a new painting technique to make these rainbows.
Rainbow Craft
Our final project will have your little artist dreaming about snow days. We are using cocktail sticks and packing peanuts in this project to build and design Snowflakes. Just like real snowflakes, each one comes out very different.

Now that your little one has learned about the different types of weather maybe they want to learn more? We found this fun magnetic weather chart perfect for tracking what is going on outside your window.

We hope your little artists had fun learning about weather from one of our fun crafts. Whichever they make, I know you will be sure to tell them, ‘You’re so creative!’
