In 1975 the United States started a National Food Day. This day was set aside to help educate people about eating fresh food over processed foods. In today’s newsletter, we are sharing some National food day crafts to help your little artist learn about fresh foods. We are making and crafting projects about the fresh foods you might find on your plate.
First up we are painting our own carrots. You may use bingo daubers or paintbrushes it is up to you and your little artists. Then to make the carrot top we placed a puddle of paint on top and used straws to blow the paint. To find out more about this project click the image.

In this next craft, we are learning that peas come in a pod. This is a great craft to sneak in a little math by counting, subtracting, and adding peas into the pod. To make this craft please click the image below.

In our third project, we are having fun gluing real popcorn seeds onto a cob of corn. Children are fascinated to learn that popcorn comes on a cob.
Corn on the Cob Craft Project
We thought we would share one of the fun items we like to do. Children love to learn that popcorn is grown on a cob. Most people do not know you can microwave a whole cob to have microwave popcorn. We use the cob to show children how it works. (Also makes a great stocking stuffer.)
We hope you had fun with a few of our National Food Day Crafts. To find more food theme crafts please visit our food category click HERE. If you make one or all we know you are sure to tell your little artists, ‘You’re so creative!’
