Free Elephant Crafts for Children

Elephant Crafts

On September 22nd the world has an appreciation day for the Elephant. We thought we would show this giant creature some appreciation by making some adorable elephant crafts.

In today’s newsletter, we will share some fun facts and turn your little artist into elephants. Let’s begin.

Elephant fun facts:

  1. There are three different types of elephants in the world. The African Bush, African Forest and the Asian elephants.
  2. They are the largest land animal.
  3. Male elephants are called a bull, females are a cow, and babies are called calfs.

Now that we are armed with our elephant facts let’s make one. In our first project, we are using paper plates to make an African elephant. Try asking your little artist why is it an African elephant? Because its ears are larger than its head. Asain elephants have ears the same size as the head. Click the image below to find out how we made this project.

Our next couple of crafts are designed to turn your little artists into little elephants. We have fun cutting and gluing elephant parts to a headband to make masks. It is fun to let the children assemble the pieces how they choose and let them be creative. Click the image below to print and make this mask.

Elephant Mask Craft Project

We are turning our little artists into elephants from head to toe. We made our mask now let’s make our feet look like it too. In this next project, we use paper bowls to design feet. Some feet fit better under the bowls than others but they will all look adorable.

I like to teach my little artist when we wear the elephant feet we cant jump. Why? Because real elephants can not jump. How the children giggle when they jump anyways.
