Chicken Month Crafts
Did you know that the month of September is National Chicken Month? We have been busy creating and making fun chicken crafts for your little artist to celebrate. This month we will be having fun teaching about baby chicks, hens, and roosters. Let’s get started with these chicken month crafts.
Our first craft had us asking, which came first the chicken or the egg? But we decided why not both. We used an egg shape and our handprints to make these baby chick crafts. Click the image below for the printable pattern.
Chicken Craft Project
We are continuing to use our handprints in this next project. You may use handprint cutouts, painted hands, or stamp pads to make this hen craft. How every you choose to make it your little ones are sure to have fun. Click the image below for the printable pattern.
Hen Craft Project
Let’s see we have made baby chicks and a hen. Last but not least is the daddy rooster craft. We are using paper plates for the base of this final project today. You may add real feathers or paper. Whichever you have laying around. Your little artist will refine small motor skills while cutting and gluing all of the parts together. Click the image below for the printable pattern.
Rooster Craft Project
When craft time is all cleaned up what better way to celebrate than with a silly book. This fun rhyming book is all about chickens on the loose in an urban setting. It is sure to give your little artist a giggle or two.
We hope you had fun with some of our Chicken Month crafts and learning all about chickens. I know you are sure to tell your little artists, ‘You’re so creative!’
