Christmas Tree Crafts
We are having fun celebrating Evergreens day (Dember19th) with our Christmas Tree Crafts. I thought how appropriate this day would fall almost in the same week as Christmas. We know your little artist will have fun engineering these tree crafts while learning about different shapes. Maybe even introduce a few new shapes.
In our first craft, we are learning about the three dimensional shape of a cone. We start by adding color with either bingo daubers or paint. Then carefully rolling our tree into its shape. You may use hole punches to make decorations for your tree. Click the image below to find out more.

Now that we have learned about the cone shape, next we are using half circles or semi-circles to make this Christmas Tree ornament. Click the image below for a free printable pattern.

In our third project, we are learning about the spiral. We are practicing our scissor skills while learning how to make a spiral and decorate this large tree craft. In this project, we painted paper plates but you may also print a spiral pattern onto green card stock. You will need the strength of the card stock to help hold the tree’s shape.

In today’s final Christmas Tree craft we are using rectangles or hyperrectangles to make these abstract trees. I love to see how the little artists use this shape to design their own trees. There is always one in the group that designs it upside down. That is art! You do not have to have them all look the same.
