FREE Autumn Crafts for Preschool Children

Autumn Crafts

We are celebrating Autumn crafts in today’s newsletter. Learning about basic color theory. How to use different textures to create art. Also how to use abstract art to create one of our projects. Let’s get started.

Depending on where you live in the world the leaves might be changing colors. In this first project, we are using a little color theory to make oak leaves. You may pick two or three Autumn paint colors. Children love seeing the magic that happens when they mix colors together. If you are planning to cut out this leaf, have the children paint the back of the page. When dry use the template on the back to make your oak leaves. Click the image below to learn more.

In our second project, we are using hand prints to make leaves. We have the little artist start by scribbling in black on any autumn color paper. Then we trace hands and cut out. You can choose to use the leaves to make a hanging mobile. Or have your little artists could glue them to a large sheet of construction paper. Click the link for step by step instructions.

This final craft is one of my favorite Autumn crafts. We are learning how to use different textures to make art. This time use a rubber band and a synthetic loofah to paint with. Click the image below to watch the video and find out more.

Hopefully, your artist learned a new way to make art today. I know no matter what they design you are sure to tell them, ‘You’re so creative!”
