Flamingo Day Crafts
We continue celebrating the fun and crazy holidays here at you’re so creative. Summer seems like an appropriate time to celebrate National Flamingo Day. Today, we are sharing a few of our fun flamingo crafts to help celebrate on June 23.
Today is guaranteed to be an explosion of pinks. Little artists are excited to learn that flamingos are what they eat. They get their color by eating algae, larvae, and shrimp. Our projects are easier to make pink no shrimp required. Just lots of pink paper. We use a lot of Astro Bright brand paper in our crafts. We love the bold nonfading colors to stock up on pink paper click HERE.
Now that we have our supplies let’s begin.
This first project has your little artist refining small motor skills by giving his or her flamingo feathers. We also use a heart shape to make feet to include a little shape recognition.

Our little artists love making paper chains. We decorate for every season with some kind of paper chain. They are easy for little artists to make with big results. This next project uses a paper chain to give the flamingo legs. Artists can have fun making long or short legs. It is a great project to introduce measurements. The flamingo can even be made as tall as each child and then compare heights.

We are planning on making some mini cupcakes for our National Flamingo Day crafts and found these cute toppers. Little artists can frost his or her cupcake in blue frosting and add this cocktail stick. A fun snack to go with this holiday.
