Play Dough Recipes to make at home.
One thing is for sure – kids of all ages love play dough. We decided to round up some of our favorite recipes and share them with you.
Play Dough (Non-Cook)
Supplies:
- 1 Cup of flour
- 1/2 Cup of salt
- 3-4 Tablespoons of water
- 1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil
- Large bowl
Directions:
- Pour all the ingredients into large bowl.
- Roll up your sleeves and mix with your hands.
- Mix until dough forms and play!
Play Dough (Cooked)
This dough will keep for several weeks if stored in an air tight container.
Supplies:
- Sauce pan
- Stove
- 1 Cup of flour
- 1 Cup of water
- 1/2 Cup salt
- 1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions:
- Turn stove on high.
- Add all ingredients to pan and stir constantly.
- Stir and cook until it forms into dough.
- Let cool and play!
Peanut Butter Play Dough
This is a fun edible dough.
Supplies:
- Mixing bowl
- 1 Cup peanut butter
- 1 Cup dry non-fat milk
Directions:
- Mix ingredients in bowl until dough forms.
- Play!
Play Dough (Bakeable)
This recipe is great for making ornaments.
Supplies:
- 1 Cup of cornstarch
- 1 lb of baking soda
- 1 1/2 Cups of water
- Pot
- Stove
- Spoon
Directions:
- In sauce pan on stove, mix together cornstarch and baking soda.
- Slowly add water over low heat.
- The mix will get bubbly and start to thicken.
- Stir constantly until it forms a ball.
- Let cool.
- Form into shapes or use cookie cutters.
- To dry- Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
Edible Cookie Play Dough
This dough will hold the shape of however you mold it, even when baked. It contains no eggs, so it is edible without baking.
Supplies:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Large bowl
- Spoon or mixer
- 1 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 Tablespoon milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cup of flour
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients in bowl.
- Begin sculpting or rolling out.
- When done, bake at 325 degrees F. for 12-15 minutes.
