Projects

Life’s a Circus. Let’s make our own.

We are exploring art with a crafty trip to the circus. When you think of the circus, do you think cotton candy, magic acts, or maybe a tiger? We have lots of projects about the circus and all the things you might see there. Today we chose three to make and create.

If you are looking for, or would like to have more craft projects about the circus, please click HERE.

One of my favorite things about the circus is cotton candy. Your little artist can design his or her own cotton candy without the sugar rush, by using colored cotton balls.

Cotton Candy

Supplies:

  1. Copy of cotton candy
  2. Cotton balls or Color cotton balls
  3. Glue

Directions:

  1. Teach the children how to pull apart the cotton balls.
  2. Glue the fluff to the picture of candy.

Do your little artists enjoy magic? This fun project will have them performing magic by pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

Magic

Supplies:

  1. Copy of rabbit and hat
  2. Crayons or Markers
  3. Glue
  4. Scissors
  5. Popsicle stick

Directions:

  1. Color rabbit and hat.
  2. Cut out rabbit and hat.
  3. Make sure to cut a slit on the dotted line.
  4. Glue the rabbit onto end of the popsicle stick.
  5. Slide stick into the slit in the hat.
  6. Now the rabbit comes out of the hat like magic!

Our final project for today is our tiger. Your little artists will have fun sponge painting their own tigers.

Tiger

Supplies:

  1. Tiger pattern
  2. Sponge
  3. Orange paint
  4. Small dish

Directions:

  1. Print off tiger pattern.
  2. Pour small amount of paint onto dish.
  3. Use sponge to paint tiger.

We hope you will enjoy your artistic trip to the circus. We are sure, whether you pick one project or all, that you will be telling your little artist, “You’re so creative!”
