Alien Crafts
Last month we had fun designing and making our own solar system. We learned about the colors and order of each of the planets. But, in today’s newsletter, we thought we would use our imaginations to make some fun Alien Crafts. Maybe your solar system is still up from last time? How fun would it be to add an alien or two to the landscape?
First up we are using our own handprints to make this alien. Everyone’s Alien is sure to come out differently. You can sneak in a little math while creating this craft as well. We start by counting the google eyes. Then I ask, ‘if we took one eye away how many would we have left?’ Or ‘if we added one more eye how many would we have?’
Some artists want ten eyes while others may wish to only have two. However, they choose to make them is fine. Click the image to make your hand print alien.

This next alien will surely zoom around your solar system in his spaceship. If you have a classroom with short attention spans you may choose to make this into a two day craft. Day one make the spaceship. Day two, create the alien. Click the image to find out more.
Alien in a Spaceship
Maybe your little artist wants to pretend to be an alien? Why not? We had fun making these alien masks. But, I am not going to lie a classroom full of children wearing these, looking at you can be a little freaky.
For added fun please make sure to ask your little artist what their alien name is. Maybe ask them to name the planet they live on. Maybe it will be Mork from Ork?

We hope you had fun with our alien crafts today. I know you will remember to tell your little artist, ‘You’re so creative!’
