Winter Animal Mask Crafts

We are having fun learning about winter animals by turning your little artists into one. In today’s newsletter, we are learning by becoming these adorable animals with Winter Animal Mask Crafts. Let’s begin.

In our first project, we are changing into a moose. These giant creatures love their salads. Well, kind of they love to munch on bark, grasses, leaves, and shrubs. We learn with this craft Males are called Bulls, Females are cows and babies are calves. A group of moose makes up a herd.

Fun fact: Moose love to swim. They will swim miles without a break and can even hold their breath for thirty seconds.

Next up we are learning what it is like to be a fox. Unlike the vegetarian moose, the fox loves to eat meat—primarily small rodents. Male foxes are called dogs, females are named vixens and babies are kits, cubs, or pups. A group of foxes is called a skull.

Fun fact: Foxes can make 40 different noises. They also have fantastic hearing and can even hear animals underground.

In today’s final craft we are making a walrus mask. I love to gather all the children in the class together and tell them, altogether they only weigh half the size of one 2,200 pound walrus. The children are sure to be shocked. Even though we have been taught an all seafood diet will help you lose weight it clearly does not work for our friend the walrus.

Fun learning facts about our walrus friends. A male is called a bull, females are cows and babies are calves. A group is a heard. Walrus tusks are about as long as a kindergartener is tall, about 45 inches.
