Fire Safety Crafts
Next month we will be learning about Fire Safety. We thought we would share some of our easy and fun fire safety crafts to help your little artist learn.
In our first craft, we are making the mascot of the fire department, the dalmatian. This mascot dates back to when the water tankers were horse drawn. The dalmatian would help by running alongside and protecting the horses on the way to the fire. While now the dogs at the firehouse live a life of luxury they were very important in clearing the way. We are using your little artist fingerprints to give this dalmatian his signature spots. I love this project because just like the real dog no two dogs come out alike. For even more fun ask your little artist to name their dog when you are all done.

In our next project, we are using a reverse painting technique to make a firetruck painting. If you are making this craft in a large classroom setting I highly recommend making your templet out of a plastic folder. This makes the temple washable and reusable. You may save time by making one template and reusing it many times for each student. Click the link below to find out more.
Fire Truck Craft Project
In today’s final craft we are making your little artists look like firefighters. We are using paper plates to design and make a firefighter’s hat. You may even customize it with the child’s name on the badge. Click the image below to make your own.
