Beach Crafts
Today August 7th is National Beach Party Day. Because not everyone lives near the beach we thought we would bring beach crafts to you and your little artists. In today’s newsletter, we are having fun making items you might see at the beach. Let us imagine our toes in the sand and get started.
Whenever we go to the beach we absolutely love to sculpt sand. We have made lifesize sea turtles, giant dragons, and of course many sandcastles. In the next project, we are bringing the sandcastle to your craft time. Click the image below to find out more.

Our next craft is about something you might see at the beach. We are teaching your little artists how to decorate their own surfboards. This craft is great for using up scraps and bits you might have laying around. In the project sheet, we used Washi tape but you can use any art supplies you may have.

Maybe while you are at the beach you might spot one of these fast moving crabs. In this project, we are using paper plates to make a giant version. For the littlest artist, I pre-cut out all the pieces and let them paint and glue the pieces together. It is fun to see how some come out. Some a little on the impressionistic side of art but all are beautiful.
Crab Craft Project
Almost every trip we take to the beach has us bringing home a seashell or twenty. In this next craft, we are painting a picture of a Conch Shell. You may use sponges or a paintbrush depending on your little artist’s abilities. Click the image below to print.

We hope your little artists had fun making beach crafts today. Maybe you were even lucky enough to have your own real beach party. I know no matter what your little artist does you are sure to say, ‘You’re so creative!’
