Independence Day Crafts
We are having fun celebrating the 4th of July with these Independence Day Crafts. Little artists will have fun learning about the United States birthday by making and wearing some of these fun crafts. Even though it is a week away we want to make sure you have time to be creative and decorate.
We are painting the national bird of the U.S. in this first project. Using a reverse painting technique to create a Bald Eagle. If you are in a group setting for this craft, just make one eagle cut out from poster board and reuse it over and over again. To make this project visit HERE.

In the next craft, we are paying tribute to ‘lady liberty.’ Kids love to make and wear crafts just like these. Today we are making this wearable statue of liberty crown. Your little artist can cut and glue to make this crown craft. For the patter please visit HERE.

Next up is a craft that is inspired by something you may eat on Independence Day, a hot dog. It is estimated that Americans eat 20 billion hot dogs a year. That is a lot of grilling. I know hot dogs are my guilty pleasure while camping.
Artists can color, and use yarn to add ‘ketchup’ and ‘mustard’ to the project. You can also cut up bits of green yarn to make relish. Or, if you want to get really creative you might rip small pieces of white paper to add ‘onions’ You might be surprised as to what your little artist likes on his or her hot dog. It would not be a fourth of July celebration without fireworks. Love them or hate them at least these are silent fireworks. This next project can be done as directed or on black paper. To create on black paper use chalk to trace out firework shapes and let your little artist add glue and glitter.

We hope you had fun spending time with your little artists making Independence Day crafts. I know you are sure to say, ‘You’re so creative.’
