It’s no secret around here that we love our little artists! Needless to say, we really love the fun holiday of International Artist Day. Every project on our website is designed to help make art more accessible to little hands. We look high and low for art supplies that make projects easier, allowing your favorite little artists to be as creative as their imaginations.
Today we are learning about a couple of different styles of art. We are focusing on abstract, pointillism, and painting. (Although, by now, I am sure your little artist knows all about painting!)
We thought we would learn these types of art with some of our Fall-themed craft projects. Let’s get started.
With the season of Fall in full swing, we are noticing all the beautiful leaves. In this project, allow your artist to participate in a little abstract art to make these beautiful leaves. These are really beautiful when incorporated into a mobile. Try making them in a few different colors too.

- Trace child’s hand prints on the other side of the paper.
- Cut out hand prints.
- Glue prints onto paper and draw stems.
Our next project could be considered a type of pointillism with our American Football project. We use clusters of cotton swabs banded together to paint this ball.

In our final project, we are making our own paintings. We are using yellow paint to make this giant sunflower.
